Sigh. I heart glass art. Did you find his work on your CA visit?

sometimes I will stop surfing at the awful movie of Sweet Home Alabama just so I can see the lightening glass sculptures near the end. I love, love, love the images of that glass shop.

The idea of suspended in .... time and place is always a frightening thought to me.

You still at the Pacific? Did you find some chickens to hang with or are you in withdrawal? Do you carry a sound track of the chickens song on your Iphone?

These look like human pieces parts preserved in formaldehyde or slices thereof pressed like flowers in the pages of a book. Icky but compelling.

Oooooh #3, love it love it. Wouldn't that make an interesting take on a substitute stained glass window in a home? Love this. There are very few artistic things that I am drawn to, but glass art is one of them. Weaving is another. Not that I'd do either, but I am always intrigued.

usually i hate glass art. its often too bright (said the massive color painter) and too damn big. or, its too fussy and small. this organic and subtle palette is made gem like by allowing light to pass through it. I love this work. I like art that is along the lines of a natural history museum. Like pam said, what a killer diffused window it would be for a privacy space and as corporate art in an giant atrium it would rock. Its very good art.

and yes, Moi, like slices on a slide - looking under the microscope at disease...you know i have a book of photographs of whole animals preserved in jars of formaldehyde which i also love.

I like that he's captured a sort of natural asymmetry and randomness in the details.

I like these as they are subtle in their colours and have an organic look to them.
