Antonio Gaudi!! YES he is THE pinnacle of spiritually inspired architecture of modern times...oh! This is an AWESOME interpretation of the theme!

anonymous boxer: thank you. it really is...though i had collected an entire post of other images, my heart returned again and again to the sagrada familia.
aunty: it is. when i got to the basement of the church and read that gaudi lived and breathed this cathedral, to the point he didnt even bother to go home, eat, sleep...he kept a little cot on site and worked constantly falling from exhaustion, up again until his death. amazing way to spend a life.
upset waitress: its the sagrada familia in barcelona. its the antonio gaudi cathedral and its a work of art you enter. no aspect of its design is without meaning. its organic and fluid...its engineering alone is a spectacular feat but the artistc vision is one of the most highly individual and original on earth. in the spanish civil war it was bombed out. thats why you still see all the scaffolding and construction. theres on photo of scaffolds before the stained glass. the staircases are nautilus without visible supports...the reverence for all of creation is apparent to the point that the pinnacles of the spires are adorned with colorful tiling of fruit..fruit being a critical symbolic statement. good to see ya grrrrrrrrl

I love the picture through the window. Glass can be so beautiful!! If you come visit me i'll take you to the Tacoma Glass Museum and we can watch them create. I love these photos, they're beautiful. One of the coolest ones is the picture of the church being built/restored. We forget how much work that takes.

Thanks for introducing me to Senor Gaudi. I'd never heard of him before. Then again, archetecture isn't my home turf.
Gaudi gives Moi a headache, but in a good way. Lots and lots to puzzle over and discover and rediscover. Great interpretation o' the theme!
