This one I can't comprehend. But I like the colors and stuff, plus it's different than anything I've ever seen on a canvas. Dog and chickens? At the museum you say? :)

So, is this where I pretend I knew who those guys were before googling?

I do like your dog and chicken twist.

anonymous boxer: good! in real life this one would kill me. why didnt you steal number 2? grrrrrhaherhahaha im just kidding. i get it. grrrrrrrherhahahahaha

troll: have you seen augustine yet? and thanks. if you ever get a chance to see "simon schauma's power of art: mark rothko" i highly recommend it. even if you hate the work (which you won't) you will like the show. promise.

upset waitress: its just a little cartoon of my dog and my two chickens' at the museum. i used to work in a museum; here i've painted some of the pieces in the collection :-

iamnot: i thought about painting yvonne but i didnt want to spoil you.

Hah! A dog is the perfect patron for a Rothko. You know, 'cause of that tilty thing they do with their heads when they don't understand something. (Some people think I detest most abstract art 'cause I'm too small minded to appreciate it. But, really, I detest most abstract art because, well, WHERE'S THE FREAKIN' STORY, HUH? I'm a very literal person . . .)

anonymous boxer: *smiles* go ahead-take everything!

moi: i actually like minimalism. im very image oriented but i love the quiet power of an ellsworth kelly or agnes martin. i wouldnt put rothko in that camp. but i mean, i chose that painting cause it was easy. grrrrerhahaha...made it easier to do the shadows of the sculpture. it would have been a nightmare to paint over, say, woman before a mirror by picasso, which i have painted a few times to teach myself "how".

piktor: "droppin the kids off at the pool" grrrrherhahahaha!!!

My mom would run into Agnes Martin on the long walks they both used to take outside their homes in Cuba, NM, where I was born and raised. Agnes, she said, was very chatty. I remember she gave my mother a small, post-card sized pen and ink drawing as a present. Dang, I need to go look for that.

This is my favorite so far, dearest She. Dogs at a museum? Oh my, well I have seen dogs in church! Take a look at Vermeer and his peers - the Delft school put dogs in churches in the paintings for symbolism of loyalty! After seeing that, hey, pooches can go anywhere!

I don't mean to complain...considering the maginitude of the challenge you have set for yourself...but you know, some of us don't have that much going for us, and looking forward to a new painting is pretty high on the list of reasons to get up in the morning.

(Wow. That was one sentence.)
